Elise loved her life. She was married to a wonderful man that made her feel special. And despite her constant disapproval toward it, she kind of enjoyed joining in on the ridiculous shenanigans of him and his best friend. Home life was great.
And work life was even better. She could've been a successful accountant or an engineer had she chosen to pursue those. But she was never one for the typical. Working a 9 to 5 in a cubicle with other stuffed shirts wasn't for her. She needed freedom. And she got all that with her current employer: a shadowy quasi government agency.
Sure it was… super secretive and she had to constantly lie to those closest to her. And yeah, her life was constantly in danger, but what a thrill it was. And she was the best of the best. No one else was in her league. She worked with all kinds of state-of-the-art equipment and she got to travel the world. What more could she want?
The familiar beeping of her watch signaled her of another mission.
"Dancing Shadow here," she answered out of familiarity.
"Red Sun."
She hadn't heard those words in so long. She dropped what was in her hand as the trigger words unlocked her true self. Her mind went back to the last place she was when she heard them.
She wasn't a loving wife. She wasn't a horror, slasher movie enthusiast. She wasn't a dance fanatic. She wasn't the top operative of the American secret intelligence service. She wasn't even American.
She was a Russian assassin trained and molded to live and work loyally for the Russian Federation. A double agent gathering intel for her superiors so they could tear the American intelligence community apart from the inside. She was cold, unfeeling. A machine assigned to follow orders and kill without question.
Infiltrating the American IC had been easy. Americans were fools and too easily trusting. She had worked her way to the top, gaining access to everything she needed in the process. Blueprints, plans, codes; she had them all.
The Americans wouldn't know what hit them.
"Are you back with us Gyrating Silhouette?"
With a heavy Russian accent, she responded. "This is Gyrating Silhouette. Ready to report. What are your orders?"
