from what i know, he was kinda good durring his first administration (1999 [acting] 2000 [officialy] - 2008) doing some reforms which actually did help russia alot, but of course during his second one, things kinda went "poopy", at least in the veiw of westerners.

I knew a Russian guy back on the Daria forum.
Russians seem to REALLY like him......like, legitimately.

as per why i said "at least in the veiw of westerners".
Speaking of which, there's actually a deal in the works at this very moment to end the war in Ukraine
you mean the war in donbass? i had assumed it would've ended with novorossiya (donetsk & luhansk) becoming part of russia, like what happened with crimea kind of.

Maybe. My understanding is that they'll be (Western Moderated) elections in the area to determine what happens. Currently polling suggests the Ukrainians are narrowly winning. (Like a 53-47 type thing)
It's possible one or both of them could vote for independance or to join Russia, but it doesn't look likely. They'll likely just get autonomy........assuming Russia doesn't intervene, but it doesn't look like they will
