Ok, I swung back and forth between him and Eric Cartman as to who was my favorite character. But, after watching the finale of season 5, it was obvious who my favorite character was.
I love this lad

I have been watching South Park for quite some time. I really can't settle on what episode or season I like best, but "Timmy 2000" I prominently remember. Rock on, Timmy.
ragemachine You said you sometimes draw comparisons between Cartman and Dan?

Yes, they do have some common themes. Both are main characters, driven by hate and revenge, are childish (Cartman is more childish than most of his peers) but seemingly randomly intelligent. They constantly seek things out to rebel against and care about their friends sometimes, but use them for their gains most of the time. They have one gullible friend that that gets to do their dirty work (Butters – Chris). Like you said on Discord, they even both have a theme of cannibalism, but Cartman goes through with it. The two respectively own a cat and a teddy bear and have a deep hate for hippies. I'm sure many more comparisons could be done.
The main difference: Cartman is generally even more extreme, but actually comes from a good home.

Cartman's mother is a crack addict whore(their words, not mine)
And his dad was just a horny member of the Denver Broncos.......who Cartman killed and fed to his Step-Brother without even realizing.

I'd say Cartman didn't come from good home
Hm, I might have to rethink. By good home I meant that his mother actually is seen to be concerned and caring, and their house is clean and intact (unlike, e. g., Kenny's) but Cartman still hates her. Theoretically, Dan could have a similar background. We don't know if his mother abused him or behaved similar to Cartman's mom, who overprotects him, gives him everything he wants and takes all his abusive behavior.

Cartmans mother spoiled him too much.
(Although, as I said, his mother is a hooker, a drug addict, and he's stated to be the second poorest kid in town besides Kenny. Not what I'd call ideal) And the situation with his dad is undeniable.
