As much as I sympathize with the Jewish people post-World War 2 and understand Israel's place as a western-influenced Jewish state, I don't understand why Israel is annexing Palestine's land. Take a look at a map over time of their territory, it is shocking. Israel is blatantly taking their territory. I can't help but sympathize with the Palestinians as well. If anyone would like to give me greater context, feel free. There are atrocities on both sides, but ultimately Israel looks like the aggressor to me. Again, give me greater context if you think it will enlighten me.

You're quite right to sympathize with the Palestinians, as these are the native people that have no standing army or any effective way to resist the much more powerful Israeli military. I'll be honest, this is simply Israel committing genocide against the Palestinians, and they have been doing it since the establishment of Israel in the late 1940s. Personally, I am anti-Zionist and disagree with the establishment of a Jewish state in the Middle East. I say this because the mere existence of Israel as a Jewish-majority state wishes to expel the native Palestinians from their land, disenfranchise them, and commit violence against them. This makes Israel a settler, colonial state similar to the situation in South Africa in the 20th century.
Even the Israeli PM in 1967, David Ben Gurion, remarked in his own words that Israel was becoming an "apartheid state". However, I absolutely condemn antisemitism and the ideology of anti-Zionism should never be conflated with bigotry of antisemitism, as Israeli propaganda will want you to believe. Of course, I also do believe that Hamas is an oppressive terrorist organization that brutalizes their own people, but it is important to note that the violence they commit is always retaliatory in nature. Many fail to remark how Fatah (the government in the West Bank) and Hamas (the government in Gaza) are fighting a civil war against each other.
To be frank, this tale of colonialism and genocide against native inhabitants is the same tale of how European colonies were established in the American hemispheres in the middle of last millennia. However, the difference between that and Israel is that many people today responsible for these crimes against the Palestinians are still alive today, and that the end of this humanitarian crisis and the end of this genocide is possible.
I understand that the plight of the Jewish people in Europe after the Holocaust was absolutely dire, but this cycle of violence waged against the Jews in the Holocaust is the same cycle of violence the Israeli government is waging today against the Palestinians.
To be clear, I myself have Jewish relatives and we mostly agree about the oppressive nature of the Israeli state, and like I said, I condemn all antisemitism and bigoted acts of violence against Jewish people, as I would against any group of people.
