Guess I won't have to do a lost media vid on this(I had one planned for May)
Ok, well, earlier today I was doing some unreleated work on the wayback with old flash material for the Ruby Gloom fandom(long story) and discovered a better way to extract flash files from pages. This(combined with me running out of things to do with ole Gloomy) prompted me to take a second look at Dan Vs This Game.
Sadly, even with the better method, neither the hub website nor 3366.com had it anymore.
I THEN remembered something Datboi had told me about quotation mark searching which he had used in the Pearson hunt, and I decided to use that for the game.
I actually managed to find both the company and one of the artists involved in the game, and sent requests to them to release it(which may happen anyway) but, a few pages down, on a very sketchy Chinese website, I found it.
DAN VS THIS GAME, IN ALL IT'S GLORY.
M95, our local tech...type....guy, managed to extract some of the files and is working on getting them into a usable offsite format so we don't have to sell out to a Chinese website. Although it appears to be in multiple pieces, so....eh.......
The link to the current best way to play it is in the Dan section. If you can provide a screenshot of the ending with your highscore in a separate thread, we'll put your name there and make a little ole highscore board.
TL;DR, Thanks to me for finding it, Ruby Gloom for prompting me to remember it, Datboi for giving me the search method, and M95 for dissecting it.
